Film critic and former Bigg Boss contestant Mahesh Kathi alleged that the story of Agnyaathavaasi has been greatly inspired by French film Largo Winch. The film itself is based on the Belgian comic by the same now. If there’s any truth to the story, then here’s what Agnyaathavaasi is going to be all about.

What happens when Largo, the 28 year-old secret son of a tycoon, Nerio, who dies in a mysterious “accident” aboard a yacht, shows up at his father’s business headquarters and meets the board of directors? What follows forms the crux of Largo Winch, a 2008 French film, based on the Belgian comic book of the same name. Largo’s father is pulled into the water and suffocated to death by a diver, following which his man Friday, Freddy, smuggles Largo out of a prison to make sure he presents himself at the W business group’s headquarters.

Largo, the tycoon’s secret son, had been raised by a French-Croatian couple trusted by his father, Josip and Hana, who are aware of his identity. The couple also have a son of their own, Goran.

The plot takes many twists and turns with Largo travelling to Dalmatia to meet the widowed Hana, his efforts to fight attempts of ruthless rivals to take over the W Group and his discovery of Goran’s identity. One of the last twists in the plot involves Goran telling Largo that he too was adopted by Nerio, Largo’s father and that he, like Largo was not Hana and Josip’s son. This makes him Largo’s adversary for some time, since he feels he is entitled to Nerio’s fortune.

After another twist in which Goran switches over to Largo’s side, he gets killed by the ‘villain’ in the plot Marcus, who in turn, is killed in a final turn of events by Largo.

Well, there are female characters in the plot too, but we don’t want the whole plot of the 2008 French film unravelled here, do we?
