Is TDP Targeting Tehsildar Vanajakshi For Taking On Chintamaneni Prabhakar?

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu repeats ad nauseum his resolve to root out corruption. But, his party leaders not just indulge in corruption, but even physically attack the officials who object to corrupt practices. The officials in question are repeatedly penalised for being honest. A case in point is Tehsildar Vanajakshi. Ever since she was physically attacked for trying to prevent illegal sand quarrying by Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, she has been transferred repeatedly. Cases have also been booked against her on various counts.

On July 8, 2015, Musunur tehsildar Dronavalli Vanajakshi was attacked by MLA Chintamaneni and his henchmen for trying to stop illegal sand quarrying from Tammileru. Though the incident created quite a stir across the state, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu obsolved Chintamaneni of any blame and slammed Vanajakshi. He said she was at fault in the whole issue.

On June 25, 2016, Vanajakshi was transferred from Musunuru to Nuzvid. There too, the TDP leaders did not like her straight forward ways. She was an eyesore to the TDP men. A TDP backer lodged a complaint against her claiming she abused him in the name of his caste. In this issue, she was transferred to Vissannapet mandal.   But the TDP-led land mafia had stalled her attempts to join  duty. Meanwhile, the TDP workers of Nuzvid staged a dharna demanding that she be shifted out of Nuzvid. Finally, she has been appointed administrative officer at Nuzvid RDO office.
