Iron Rod Load Crushes Four Labourers

In a gruesome incidents, four dailywagers were crushed to death when a heavy load of iron rods fell on them. The tragedy occurred near Indrakaran village in Kandi mandal of Sangareddy district on Monday night.

Four persons - Saroj Kumar (28), Suraj Kumar Bhakta (23), Chuttu Bhakta (18) and Sudhama (20) - were crushed by the heavy load. Three other persons Manas Majhi, Rubin and Pradeep suffered critical injuries. Auto driver Pandu Goud too suffered grievous injuries.

The iron rods were being brought in a trailer lorry to an under-construction solar company. Since it was already night, the company representatives said the rods would be unloaded the next morning. The trailer was being parked on a side, but the roads being heavily pot-holed, the vehicle heaved violently from side to side. Due to this, the ropes tying the iron rods came unstuck and they fell on an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction.

The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment and the police are investigating.
