Irish Woman Found Dead, Naked After Holi In Goa: 1 Arrested 

Panaji: A man was arrested after raping and killing a 25-year-old Irish woman at an abandoned place in South Goa on Wednesday.

The culprit, Vikas Bhagat has confessed to raping the victim and later killing her in order to hide his identity, police said.

According to police, the deceased had come with a friend and participated in Holi celebrations in coastal Canacona village. Police cracked the case in less than 24 hours after the woman found dead on Tuesday.

Police, suspecting rape, have sent the body to the Goa Medical College near Panaji for a post mortem. "The body was lying in a pool of blood without clothes and there were injuries to the head and face," Deputy Superintendent of Police Sammy Tavares said.
