IPS Officer, Wife Arrested For Copying In Civils Mains Exam From City’s Coaching Centre 

Chennai/Hyderabad, October 31: An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, aspiring to enter the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), was arrested for cheating in the civil services main exam with a Bluetooth device in Chennai on Monday. His wife Joyce and La Excellence IAS Coaching Center owner Rambabu were also arrested for sending the IPS officer answers through Bluetooth devices.

Safeer Karim, currently an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tirunelvelli district in Tamil Nadu, was caught talking to his wife who was sitting in Hyderabad's La Excellence IAS Coaching Center and sending him answers after downloading the question paper from photos sent by her husband from the exam center in Chennai. He was writing the exam at Girls High School, Egmore in Chennai.

Karim wrote the exam using the most sophisticated high-tech cheating techniques and was about to repeat the same method on Monday when he was caught by officials of the examination center. He is likely to find himself in serious trouble owing to this grave malpractice.

La Excellence IAS Coaching Center owner Rambabu was assisting Joyce in preparing answers for Safeer.

Hyderabad police are collecting more evidence in this connection at La Excellence.
