IPL bets on the rise in Hyderabad
The betting - spree is continuing in Hyderabad as a youth became an easy prey for the bookies.
A youth lost his Rs 90 lakhs in the betting when his parents gave the money to pay and release the gold from the mortgage. He fell into the trap by bookies and lost everything. When he returned home with empty hands, his mother chided him for not bringing back the gold ornaments. Later, she came to know that he put the money in the betting. The incident took place in Neredmet area in the city.
In another case, the police arrested seven persons from L B Nagar area for participating in the betting. Four laptops and Rs 20,000 currency notes were recovered from them on Thursday. Police suspected two bookies Kamalesh and Santosh behind the betting. Search is on to nab the main culprits.
