Ananthapur: Internal squabbles between the two Telugu Desam Party MLAs JC PRabhakar Reddy and Prabhakar Chaudary have recently come to the fore, with both of them resorting to personal verbal attacks at each other. This has exposed indiscipline among the TDP party cadre in Ananthapur district.

There have been differences between Tadipatri MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy and Ananthapur MLA Prabhakar Chaudary for some time now. Rivalry between the two began since the defection of former chairman of Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha, Rashid, to the party. The differences escalated further in the context of Pathur road widening, where both the leaders tried to flaunt their strength by conducting rallies with their followers and supporters and discrediting each other.

The TDP leaders also fought over the inauguration of NTR Marg in Ananthapur town. JC Diwakar Reddy expressed his anger over not being invited for the inauguration. He threw brickbats at MLA Prabhakar Reddy over this issue in his own caustic style.

Supporters of Prabhakar Chaudary and JC brothers also argued over laying the foundation for Mahatma Gandhi statue by Arya Vaishya Community, at the Clock Tower in the town. Similarly both the groups opposed each other over the seizure of a wedding hall in the town, that belonged to a temple constructed by Arya Vaishya community. The locals alleged that Mayor Swarupa and MLA Prabhakar caused the seizure of the hall.

The Arya Vaishya community members took out a rally against the seizure of the wedding hall and besieged the Municipal Corporation office. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, a staunch follower of JC Prabhakar Reddy, also participated it, in which some of the participants were injured in the commotion that erupted at the Corporation office. When Prabhaker Reddy called on the injured people, he made a comment against the MLA saying, “If I want, I can directly go to his (MLA Prabhakar Chaudary) house and beat him up.”

MLA Chaudary also reacted with a serious retort saying, “JC Prabhakar Reddy will have to take another birth to lay a hand on me.”

The locals allege that the two TDP leaders have been stonewalling the development activities in Ananthapur by placing their personal political differences above development activities.
