Inter-state check post commenced

As the new state of Telangana became a reality on Monday, inter-state check-posts were set up at several places on the AP-Telangana border.

The first of such check-posts was set up between Khammam and West Godavari districts.

Sridevi,Deputy Transport Commissioner, inaugurated the check-post in Jeelugumalli mandal in West Godavari district.

However, there will be an exemption for sometime for the buses that ply between the two states. After that, all the vehicles have to get permits and show tax receipts for the officials at the check-post.

The inter state check-post was formed only for these purposes.
