Initiate CBI Investigation On Pattiseema Corruption: YSRCP

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party MLA Adimulapu Suresh has alleged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of involving in large scale corruption in Pattiseema project works. He said that the YSRCP has been questioning the corrupt practices in the project from a long time now. The MLA spoke to media in the YSRC Party office here today and said, "The CAG has mentioned in its report that there have been corrupt practices in the project works of Pattiseema. The YSRCP is demanding a CBI investigation in the matter."

"The Chief Minister is denying the issue saying that we cannot conduct a CBI investigation based on CAG's recommendations. This indicates Chandrababu's dual attitude. He has to remember that the CBI acted upon the CAG's word in the case of 2G spectrum and the Coal scam. The Chief Minister is answerable to the people of the state regarding the corruption in irrigation projects across the state," he asserted.

"The TDP is constantly replacing the contractors in the projects, only for making money through the commissions. The budget estimates are being doubled in a haphazard manner. The estimate for Velugonda project has been increased from Rs 495 crores to Rs 1,012 crores. While a total budget of Rs 2,844 crores is required for the project, the TDP government has allocated only Rs 334 crores till now. A majority of funds have been allocated to the project in the regime of Late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy," he added.
