Vijayawada: EX TDP MLA Bobbili Jayaraj's son,Vidyasagar, was detained on Thursday for his alleged role in missing case of a woman doctor at Machavaram in Vijayawada.

The woman, Swaroopa (25) apparently wanted to marry Vidyasagar despite knowing that he was already married. Before she went missing, she sent a WhatsApp message to him which read as, "Bobbie (Sagar's nickname) I loved you so much and despite you saying no, I have been forcing you to marry me…my parents are planning to take me away from this place and might come after you. So be careful.”

Swaroopa’s parents assert that Vidyasagar has role in their daughter’s dissappearence. Meanwhile, Vidyasagar's family cried foul saying that he was innocent and unnecessarily being framed. His wife, Susham, says, "The police picked up my husband on Wednesday from home, and also took the hard disks that stored CCTV footage. They are not telling us where he is now."

Vidyasagar' lawyer Thatikonda Chiranjeevi condemned the police for detaining his client more than two days without having any evidence. Swaroopa works in the Vissannapeta Public Health Centre and is a sister of IAS officer Hepsiba Rani who is serving in Karnataka.
