Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy's daughter and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sharmila's 'Maro Praja Prastanam' Padayatra, in YSR district reached Vempalli on Thursday evening . Sharmila has walked continuously covering an arduous stretch of more than 15 km in the town today. Women of all ages thronged the route and showered flowers on Sharmila.

She addressed the gathering introducing herself as 'Rajanna biddani' (I am the daughter of Rajanna), 'Mi Jagananna chellini' ( sister of Jagan) and 'na pere Sharmila' ( my name is Sharmila) .

Sporting a black badge as a mark of protest, Sharmila said "My yatra is intended to expose the nexus between Congress and Telugu Desam Party and the conspiracy they launched, with the active connivance of the CBI, to target my brother YS Jagan. All of you should support me", she urged.

Sharmila was blessed by her mother and YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayamma and uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy as she launched the walkathon that is expected to cover 3,000 km across the state.

Vijayamma said "One of my offspring is in jail. I am sending the other one to you (people). If Jagan is released from jail on bail, he will continue the yatra". She criticized the government saying that the situation in the state remained the same both during Naidu's time and now in Kiran Kumar Reddy's tenure. "In 2003, Chandrababu Naidu was in power. Now, Kiran Kumar Reddy is the Chief Minister. But the problems of people remain the same," she said. Sharmila's yatra was meant to highlight the problems of the common masses and to seek solutions to them, Vijayamma added.
