Two Trainee Pilots Killed After Plane Crashes At Vikarabad

Hyderabad: Two trainee pilots were killed when their plane crashed in the cotton fields of Sultanpur village at  Vikarabad district in Telangana on Sunday.


According to reports, the aircraft was identified as a Cessna aircraft and the deceased trainee pilots were identified as Prakash Vishal and Amanpreet Kaur, who were students of Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy in Hyderabad.


As a part of their training, they took off on Sunday morning from Begumpet airport. But, after an hour later they lost radar contact at around 12 pm. According to reports, soon after the tragic incident, villagers rushed to the spot and also alerted the police.

Locals said they say the aircraft moving in circles before crashing into the fields. Later police found that two persons on board were dead. A team from the Department of Civil aviation also rushed to the spot from Begumpet airport. Heavy rains were probably om of the reasons for the aircraft to lose contact, they said. "We were informed about the crash by the police", an airport official said.

The area was cordoned off and the investigation is underway.
