Hyderabad: This Saturday will mark exactly 11 years of the twin bomb blasts witnessed in the city of Hyderabad. August 25 is remembered as one of the darkest days in recent history. This was the first time that Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were used in the twin cities.

In the twin blasts, 42 people were killed and over 50 persons were injured. Later two more bombs were defused in the city and the police discovered 19 bombs unexploded bombs, which had they gone off, would have taken a much heavier toll of lives. Most of the bombs were fitted with timers and placed at cinema theatres, bus stops, road junctions and pedestrian bridges.

Since it was a weekend, the places were filled with large crowds. The victims drawn from various backgrounds included students, women and children.

Meanwhile, the special court of central prison Cherlapally will pronounce its verdict on Monday, August 27, 2018. The case was probed by the Counter Intelligence Police of the state. The officials had lodged a charge sheet against seven suspects of the Indian Mujahideen (IM).
