Hyderabad: The Congress in Telangana today slammed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his alleged silence on the "injustice being done to Telangana" by the NDA government.

"Why did TRS not move a 'No Confidence Motion' against BJP government?" state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy asked.

"It did not even vote against the Modi government when the 'no trust motion' was moved (recently), alleging non-implementation of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. This was a proof of TRS party's secret alliance with the BJP," Reddy told reporters here.

He asked why Rao was not speaking against the Modi government for allegedly not keeping the promises made to Telangana.

Congress party not only granted statehood to Telangana, but also ensured that entire revenue of Hyderabad comes to Telangana state, he said.

"Further, all the sops promised in the Act were made by the Congress-led UPA Government. But the present BJP government did not fulfil those promises and by remaining silent, TRS played a negative role in doing injustice to Telangana," he said.

The TPCC president asked as to why Rao did not register his protest for alleged delay by Centre in starting a railway coach factory at Kazipet, steel plant at Bayyaram, non-sanction of funds for ITIR in Hyderabad or even merger of seven mandals of Khammam with Andhra Pradesh.

Asked for his reaction on the possibility of Congress party's alliance with TDP, he said it was too premature to talk about alliances.

A decision on this issue would be taken by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, he said.

Reddy said Gandhi would visit Hyderabad in the second week of August.

Besides participating in the 'bus yatra' undertaken by the party, Gandhi would meet people from different walks of life, including small traders, women self-help groups, students and civil society organizations.

Earlier in the day, Reddy held a preparatory meeting with the representatives of women self-help groups in connection with the proposed visit of Gandhi to Hyderabad next month. (PTI)
