Hyderabad should only be Telangana's capital: Akbaruddin Owasi

Hyderabad, "Hyderabad is nobody's property," said Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen leader Akbaruddin Owasi in State Assembly on Tuesday.

Speaking on Telangana draft bill in the Assembly, Owasi said that his party is in favour of Telangana. "We also demand Hyderabad as the capital for separate Telangana state," he added. He also pointed out that the party doesn't support the move of making Hyderabad the joint capital for ten years.

Alleging that opinions of Muslims were not into consideration in united Andhra, Owasi said,"Muslims faced a lot problems in 1956. Urdu, which was the official language was removed after the formation of Andhra Pradesh."

He added that,"Muslim minorities will face great losses with state division and that is why our party wants Rayala Telangana, by merging Anantapur and Kurnool," he said.
