Hyderabad Population is All Set to Cross the One Crore Mark !

Hyderabad: The city known as an IT hub, educational center, military cantonments, space and technology center will soon cross one more milestone - the city's population is all set to hit the one crore mark !

The city has been inviting people from various cities and countries for education, jobs and business and many have made it their home away from home. But this flow of people and the consequent increase in the city's population has been dramatic and rapid in the past years than anytime in its 400-year history.
Here is the breakup of the growth in its population over the years: In 1951 the city's population was 10.83 lakhs. In 2011 that number stood at 78 lakhs. According to official statistics, by the end of 2015 it was very close to one crore mark making it the sixth most populated city in the country.
New Delhi stands in the first place with a population of 4.60 crores, Mumbai is second (2.07 crores), Kolkatta at third place (1.46 crores), Chennai at fourth place (89.17 crores) and Bengaluru at fifth place with 87.28 crores population.
