Hyderabad gets cool after heavy showers

Several places in Hyderabad witnessed thunder showers on Wednesday under the influence of cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.

Vanastalipuram, LB Nagar, Abids, Koti, Kachiguda, Kukatpalli and other areas received heavy downpour. A hoarding was collapsed at Basheerbagh following the rains accompanied by heavy gales.

Meanwhile, the vehicular traffic was disrupted following heavy rain with strong winds. Trees were uprooted and hoardings collapsed leading to traffic chaos. Munaganuru in Hayatnagar Mandal received hail storm. A huge tree was uprooted at GHMC office crushing two two-wheelers. 

Meanwhile, the cyclone centred at 300 kilometres to the southeast of Kolkata is likely to move towards north. The weather centre said under the influence of the cyclone, there may be intense rains in the next 48 hours in several parts of the state including the coastal districts. Wind may blow with 40-50 km speed in the coast of Andhra Pradesh.
