Hyderabad B.Tech student killed in road accident

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old B.Tech student died on Sunday when the car she was travelling in rammed into a tree at Jubilee Hills.The victim, K Devi, was traveling with her male friend Bharath Simha Reddy (23), a final year student, who was driving the car.

Jubilee Hill Inspector S. Venkat Reddy said that the accident took place in the wee hours of Sunday.

“When our team reached the spot we found the car’s left side had rammed into the tree. The woman had serious head and chest injuries and died on the spot while her friend has also suffered injuries," said Venkat.

Meanwhile residents of Huda Enclave claimed that they saw both the occupants quarreling and the woman was screaming for help before the car was driven away to another locale. However, Inspector Venkat said that they were not aware of any quarrel.

SI Guruswami added that they suspect that both the occupants were drunk and were on their way back from a pub when the accident tool place. A test would be conducted to assess whether there was any alcohol content in their bodies. The victims' parents said that Devi along with her friends went for a party at Madhapur on Saturday.

A case has been filed against Bharath under section 304 A, and further investigation is on.
