HRF Condemns Foisting Cases Against UG Srinivasulu

Human Rights Forum has strongly condemned the harassment of Adoni-based advocate and HRF secretary UG Srinivasulu by Kurnool police.

In a statement on Thursday, HRF president S Jeevan Kumar and general secretary VS Krishna said the police have foisted several cases on Srinivasulu as he was opposing their arbitrary and unlawful methods. He also took up issues related to public health and environment and effective implementation of the SC, ST Atrocities Act. He also raised his voice against the indiscriminate opening of rowdy sheets against a record 460 persons, the police booked a rowdy sheet against Srinivasulu himself.

The HRF said that the the filing of these false cases is solely intended to harass, discourage and intimidate them and stop their human rights and is reflective of the AP government’s increasing intolerance of critical voices. The HRF demanded that all charges against UG Srinivasulu be dropped immediately.
