Hyderabad: A girl who applied for a job at a reputed IT firm in the city faced sexual harassment from the HR manager of the company even before she got the job. The HR manager was arrested by SHE team police on Monday after the girl lodged a complaint stating that he asked her to send her nude pictures to get the job.

The girl who completed her BTech recently applied for a software engineer’s position at a reputed IT company in the city. She got an interview call and she appeared for the same last month. The HR manager, B. Narender, gave his number to the girl for any future enquiries about the job. As the girl did not get any intimation from the company, she contacted Narender on WhatsApp. To her utter shock, the girl got a reply from Narender asking her to send her nude pictures to get the job.

She kept quite for a while and again sent him a message enquiring about her job status for which the accused repeated his answer demanding her to send him her nude pictures to get the job. He also claimed in his message that he can help her get job in any company as he was a consultant for several IT firms in the city. He even threatened her saying he can make her life miserable if she did not oblige his demand.

The girl gathered courage to approach police about the blackmail by the HR manager and lodged a written complaint with the messages as evidence. Based on the complaint and proofs, a SHE team arrested Narender from his office in Hitech City.

Giving the information to media, SHE Teams ACP Swati Lakra said girls who are facing such sexual harassment from HR managers should come forward to bring the culprits to book. She assured the victims that their names won't be revealed.
