How to know your house is a target of robbers? Are there any tell tale signals?

If you ask the police of Pathanamthitta, they'll teach you how to look for tell tale symbols that your house could be the next target of the robbers. A Facebook post by SP Harishankar gives details about the modus operandi of the thieves.

He uploaded a pic showing six symbols used by the thieves to indicate if the house is 'a good target' or if there is 'nothing worth stealing', or if it is 'too risky' to steal or if there is a 'vulnerable female who could be easily conned.'

The SP wrote, “If you see any of these symbols on your compound wall or pillar, quickly wipe it off. Your house is under observation for robbery.”

He says the thieves have been using this modus operandi in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu and the intel wing of Tamil Nadu has found these symbols being used to identify the targets.

The post has since been widely shared on social media, with many thanking the officer for the timely warning.
