Housewife Commits Suicide After Husband Thrashes Her

Mohan allegedly dragged Sushrutha from the bathroom and thrashed her up in front of the family members. Unable to bear the humiliation she committed suicide on Sunday.

Hyderabad: A housewife committed suicide after her husband pulled her out of the bathroom and thrashed her for alleged excess use of the hot water geyser.

The victim, Sushrutha (30), hanged herself on Sunday night after texting her parents that her husband beat her up in the presence of her in-laws. The husband, N Mohan, and his parents are said to be harassing Sushrutha for sometime. On Sunday, they allegedly instigated Mohan again following which he barged into the bathroom, dragged her out and beat her up in the presence of in-laws, Sushurtha’s co-sister and her children. Despite several pleas that she will not use the geyser henceforth, Mohan did not relent and continued to beat her up. Unable to bear the humiliation, she ended her life.

Her parents complained to the police that it was not a case of suicide but murder by Mohan and his parents. Hailing from Suryapet, Sushrutha married Mohan about eight years ago. The couple have two children.
