Hostel Warden Compels Girls To Strip To Check Menstruation
Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, nearly 40 girls alleged that the hostel warden on Sunday made them strip to check who is menstruating. The student were residing at the Rani Laksmi Bai Hostel of Dr Hari Singh Gour University in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar city.
It is said that the hostel warden found sanitary pads lying open in washroom area and in some hostel premises which irked her. Subsequently, she asked the girl students to assemble and strip one by one. The students reported the matter to University Vice Chancellor RP Tiwari.
“It's unfortunate and condemnable. I told the students that they are all like my daughters and I apologise to them,” VC said. The VC assured that action would be taken against the warden if found guilty. Meanwhile, warden Prof.Chanda Benis is yet to respond on the issue.
Recently, in Thane, police rescued an eight-year-old boy after they were alerted on Twitter about child abuse in Andheri neighbourhood. The boy was stripped and tied to a tree, apparently by his mother, for bunking school. She was a widow and worked as a domestic help and struggled to send her two children to school, police said. A twitter follower of Mumbai police, Nishit Mehta, alerted them about the incident. However, the police did not arrest the boy's mother. They let her off with a warning against punishing children.
