Honour Killing in Karimnagar

Love ended in tragedy for 21-year-old Mahankali Anil and his lover as latter's relatives pounced upon Anil when he came to the temple where he was the marry the love of his life.

The incident occurred in Karimnagar city on Thursday.

Mahankali Anil fell in love with A Mounika and they married six months ago. Since Mounika was a minor, her parents filed a kidnap case against Anil and consequenly Anil was sent to jail.

Anil was recently released and meanwhile, Mounika also became a major. Since there was no legal hurdle for their marriage, they made arrangements for wedding at Tapala Narasimha Swami temple in the town and even sought police protection.

However, as he was preparing for the marriage, Mounika's relatives came and slashed his throat. He was also beaten black and blue. The girl was dragged away from the spot.

The police rushed to the spot and have registered a case.
