Hyderabad: In an honor killing kind of incident, a hotel was killed by a person for marrying the latter's sister at Sitarambagh near Mangalhat in the city on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Amar and the accused Lakshman was arrested. Both hail from Gulbarba in Karnataka and settled in city for some time now.

While Lakshman, who came to the city along with his family including sister Kavitha, was working in an event management company, Amar migrated to city recently and was working in a hotel. Both knew each other very well.

After a few months, Amar developed friendship with Lakshman's sister Kavitha. The friendship blossomed into love and both of them decided to get married. However, Lakshman refused to their marriage proposal and warned his sister to forget Amar as his status doesn't suit their family.

On September 8, Amar eloped with Kavitha to Bengaluru and got married. Knowing that Amar took away his sister, Lakshman developed grudge and went to Bengaluru in search of her sister and Amar. Finding them after a long search, Lakshman somehow convinced both of them and asked them to return to Hyderabad.

On Tuesday, Lakshman took Amar on his bike to Sitarambagh on some pretext and hacked him to death with boulders. The police registered a case of murder and took the accused into custody.
