Deputy Chief Damodara Rajanarasimha, who was in Delhi for two days lobbying for Home ministry, appears to have succeeded in convincing the Congress party high command.
He met AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde, in-charge of AP affairs Gulam Nabi Azad and other senior leaders and conveyed his desire to take the portfolio of the Home ministry as a Deputy Chief Minister. He reportedly made it clear to Sonia that he could not work with Kiran anymore. He also said it would be detrimental for the party if Kiran was continued as chief minister.
The Congress high command is understood to have agreed for allotting home ministry to Rajanarasimha. A decision was expected to be announced by evening.
