Even as the expectations of the Telugu television market are rising high with the launch of Bigg Boss on Star MAA to be hosted by young tiger Jr. NTR on July 16, the Tamil version of the popular reality TV show ran into a contoversy with the hardcore right wing group Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) demanding a ban on the show and arrest of the host Kamal Haasan.

In a setback to 'Bigg Boss Tamil', the reality television show hosted by actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, the right-wing group on Wednesday demanded the arrest of Kamal Haasan and ban the show.

The show went on air late in June and was the actor's debut in small screen.

Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK), a right-wing group has also asked to arrest the contestants alleging that they were mouthing obscene statements, saying that the show also promotes nudity, NDTV reported.

"They should be arrested under law because they are hurting Tamil culture and the programme should be banned," the group said in a statement accusing the show of hurting the sentiments of seven crore people of the state.

As part of the show, all 15 participants, except those who are actors will remain locked inside the house with 30 cameras to monitor them. According to the rules of the show, one contestant will be eliminated every week.

Arjun Sampath part of the right-wing group has also claimed that the show promotes Leftist and Dravidian ideologies. He also alledged that the only non-actor on the show, Juliana, was selected because she had spoken against the BJP government during the Jallikattu protests, the report added.

In fact, the right wing group had earlier targeted the actor a few months ago. In March, HMK had filed a complaint against the actor for his remarks about epic Mahabharata in an interview. They termed his comments derogatory. However, the High Court had suspended summons issued to the actor by the court.

Tamil Bigg Boss: Romance, Anger, Agony, Frustration And Deceit

Different from the routine run-of-the-mill serials and sob soaps, ‘Bigg Boss’ has arrived on Vijay TV and the Big Boss is Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. The episodes so far have seen romance, anger, agony, frustration and deceit among inmates.

The 15 participants selected to be inside the Bigg Boss house for 100 days were mostly Tamil cinema celebrities like Oviya, Namitha, Snehan, Kanja Karuppu and Ganesh Venkatraman with the exception of Juliana who became an overnight celeb during jallikattu and Riza Wilson, a model.

In the first week, actress Oviya proposed to Aarav. Then there was anger towards Juliana by a few fellow inmates, in addition to Sree’s frustration that led to his elimination on health grounds. The show has anything and everything that are scenes straight out of a mushy family drama.

To give a peak inside the House, beyond what is seen on the screen, the organizers invited 14 journalists to the special edition and what they found was something unusual and weird. Fourteen journalists, 33 cameras, 24 hours, without mobiles, watches, books, money, music – literally cut off from the outside world.

'Wow' was their first expression even as they landed inside. Such was the grandeur of the sets - a lush artificially created lawn with a small swimming pool on its left and a gym on the right. There was a smoking area as well in the corner. The well-lit house with its spacious living room cum dining and a small kitchen at the corner and two large well-decorated bedrooms with signs of King and Queen outside – the setting was perfect.

They were under a constant watch of 33 cameras and even a small whisper would be as loud as from a loud speaker.
