High Court directs Telangana govt. to restore GO website

Hyderabad: Hearing a writ petition filed by Congress leader Dasoju Sravan Kumar, High Court Justice P V Sanjay Kumar on Thursday passed an interim orderdirecting Telangana state government to restore GOs (Government Orders) website withing three weeks of time.

The congress leader has filed the petition challenging Telangana government decision on closure of government website which has barred all the confidential GOs from public domain.

The petitioner's counsel told the court that from February onwards GO website has been closed, adding, the shut down is a violation of section 4 under RTI Act.

In a reply to the query, the government informed the court that the website is down and repairs are underway and would be complete the process in three weeks.

The next hearing of the case is on April 28.
