Chennai: Nearly about eight long years, superstar Rajinikanth closeted with his fans at Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai on Monday. The four-day meeting with his fans will bring to the fore the major issues concerning his political entry and films.

He also dedicated a special time to take selfies with his fans during the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Rajinikanth expressed happiness for meeting his fans who came to the city across the country.

"Very soon I will get back to sets for shooting a movie. And I had never stepped back on my political entry," he remarked. Alleging that some politicians had misused his name, Thalaivar said that he had already clarified about his political entry long ago.

Rajinikanth admitted that he had a bitter experience 21 years ago. "So that is why I would not join any political party. God ordered me; acting is my occupation so I would continue doing this.

Asking his fans not to extend support to any political party, Rajinikanth exhorted his supporters to lead a honest life. He further suggested his fans not to speak about politics during the entire meting.

His fans and supporters in the country have long been demanding Rajinikanth to take a plunge into politics. Even political parties too had made several attempts to bring Thalaivar into active politics but all efforts went in vain as he was adamant on his stand and ideology.

Post 'Sivaji' success meet in 2009, Rajinikanth met his fans for the first time on Monday. He also clarified about the controversy revolving around his recent Sri Lankan tour.
