Heavy Rain Forecast For Hyderabad, Bengaluru: Companies Ask Staff To Leave Early

Incessant rains hit major parts of Hyderabad and crippled normal life. Heavy downpour on Monday evening brought traffic to a standstill while roads were inundated with water. Commuters found it impossible to wade through water-logged roads for the fear of manholes.

Even those who started early from their workplace ended up reaching home late in the evening. Fearing a similar situation, most companies in Hyderabad asked its employees to leave from office early.

Heavy rains lashed most parts of Telangana. While the capital city recorded 38mm of rainfall in 24 hours, Nizamabad is believed to have witnessed heavy showers of 75 mm. Water from the Ramanthapur lake entered the nearby areas forcing its residents to use boats for transport. A flood warning has been sounded in the city. According to the weathermen, these showers are likely to persist till the end of this week.

A similar situation was witnessed in Bengaluru too where it has been pouring over the last couple of weeks. The weather is expected to remain stormy there too.
