Head-on Car Collision in Wanaparthy Kills 8 On Spot

Wanaparthy: In a gory accident on National Highway 44 near Kotha Kanimetta in Wanaparthy district, two cars collided killing 8 people on the spot while three more have been severely injured. The injured have been shifted to a government hospital and two among them are said to be critical.

The accident occurred this morning on the national highway when a tyre of one of the cars went flat, the driver lost control over the vehicle and collided head-on with another car. The head-on collision resulted in the death of eight people on the spot. It is said that of the eight, seven dead bodies had to be pulled out of the cars as they were stuck inside the crushed vehicles.

Among the deceased, two were women while six others were male and belong to Hyderabad, the police informed. The accident led to a traffic jam on the highway. The traffic police reached the spot and cleared the traffic. They have registered a case and are investigating.
