He wanted Rs 200, ATM gave him 26 lakh

A student had shock of his life when he got Rs 26 lakh from the ATM while he wanted just Rs 200.

The incident happened at S.R.Nagar ATM of the State Bank of Hyderabad. The amount tumbled out because bank officials kept the money in the machine and left it without locking.

When Latif went to the ATM and inserted his card, the ATM door opened and about Rs.26 lakhs came out of it. He immediately informed the same to the bank officials through toll-free number. But, the bank officials told him that the ATM was not in their jurisdiction.

As a result, the student informed about the incident to the S.R. Nagar police. The police officials, who reached the ATM, were surprised to find that there were no CCTVs and security guard at the ATM.

They thanked the boy and informed about the incident to the bank authorities.
