Hyderabad: In a sensational verdict, the High Court today has set aside the expulsion of two expelled Congress MLAs, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar and held that they could continue to be members of the Telangana Legislative Assembly till the end of their term. Earlier, both the expelled legislators had filed a petition challenging the state Assembly's decision to expel them from the House.

The High Court judge Dr Siva Sanker Rao said that the Assembly order was being set aside as it was violative of the principle of natural justice and added that judicial review was permissible. The judge also said that the petition was accepted because the incident that occured on March 12 was not restricted to the assembly alone, but had wider ramifications. Hence, they delivered a clear verdict.

The two legislators were expelled from the Assembly for their alleged unruly behaviour in the House during the speech of Governor ESL Narasimhan.
