HC relief to Mohan Babu in 'Denikaina Ready' case

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has given a breather to Mohan Babu in the controversial film 'Denikaina Ready' case.

Even before the committee set up by the government to review the film could take a decision, the High Court has passed a stay order on the same. 

A single bench headed by Justice K Chandrabanu clarified that the film content will remain status quo.The court also asserted that once the movie was passed and certified by the censor board, the government had no right to set up another review committee.

It may be recalled that the government set up the committee after objections raised by a few Brahmin organisations stating the film showed the community in poor light. Producer Mohan Babu had challenged this decision in the court. 

The court also ordered a stay on the committee set up by the government to review the movie "A woman in Brahmanism."
