Hailstorm batters parts of city

Residents of Hyderabad heaved a sigh if relief after heavy downpour accompanied by thunderstorm lashed several parts of the city.

The cool showers that came down after late noon was a welcome respite to hyderabadis who were reeling under the effects of heatwave.

Several trees were uprooted and electric lines disconnected after hailstorm played havoc in many parts if secunderabad.

Commuters were caught unawares by the heavy wind and with the water clogging roads, they  were forced to park their vehicles and wait for it to stop.

The sudden downpour has no doubt brought down the mercury levels in the city. Areas that are facing acute water shortage only hope that the water levels go up after the rain.
