Guntur: Student commits suicide for united AP

Protesting against the division of the state, a student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a hotel in Guntur district.

According to reports, he was a staunch supporter of Samikynadhra and had been closely following the developments on the Telangana issue for the past one week.

He had told his friends on several occasions that there will be big trouble for Andhra people if the state is divided and we cannot go to Hyderabad, reports said.

Soon after he jumped from the building, the locals rushed him to a nearby hospital. But doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased who hailed from Tenali, had rented a lodge in Guntur yesterday. The body has been kept at the Guntur mortuary. Scores of Samikyandhra activists and students are thronging the hospital to pay their last respects.

In a related development, a student in Ananthapuram tried to set himself blaze by pouring petrol. Police stopped him and took them into their custody.
