Govt lacks will, vision on fee reimbursement: Vijayamma

Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy dreamt of implementing the fee reimbursement scheme for all eligible professional students, said YSR Congress Party honorary president, Y.S. Vijayamma while ending her two day's hunger strike at Indira park.

YSR envisioned a scenario where the the poorest of the poor could have access to higher education. She questioned the government's attitude towards the fee reimbursement scheme and its indifference towards the plight of the suffering students. She wondered whether the congress party or its government had any  vision for public welfare.
"With a budget of Rs 1.49 lakh crores, can't it reimburse the tuition fee for a few hundred poor students", Vijayamma questioned, adding that the Congress was trying to gradually do away with the scheme. Before YSR became Chief Minister, no poor student could even dream of becoming an engineer or a doctor, but YSR turned their dreams into reality by launching the fee reimbursement scheme, she recalled.
The YSRC Party is building awareness among people on various issues and trying to open the government's eyes, she said. "We will always be with the people and fight for their cause. Being an opposition party now, we may not be able to do much, but we wish to assure the people that once Jagan becomes the Chief Minister, all their problems will be solved", Vijayamma said.

She said that YSR's name was mentioned in 26 GOs instead of the government's, while Jagan's name was changed from accused number 52 to number 1. "The CBI's action is a clear act of vendetta and a part of a conspiracy", she said. Her statement that Jagan would emerge unscathed by all this soon was greeted with resounding applause by the students and the public at large.
She criticized the Congress and TDP parties saying that both the parties are working together clandestinely, and     put Jagan in jail as they couldn't face him politically.
