Govt denies permission to YS Jagan's Deeksha

In a development that indicates the panic in the TDP dispensation, the authorities in Guntur have denied permission to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to hold an indefinite Deeksha on the issue of the special status to Andhra Pradesh.

The authorities said the permission was being denied as there were several schools and hospitals near the venue. They also said the immersion of the Ganesha idols would also be affected by the dharna.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced he would undertake an indefinite deeksha from September 26 at Guntur on the issue of special status. The deeksha was initially scheduled for September 15, but was postponed in view of the Ganesh festival.

Meanwhile, YSRCP MLAs Chand Basha and Vishweshwar Reddy said the TDP government was mortally afraid of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and is doing everything under its command to thwart the Deeksha of YS Jagan for special state status. They demanded that the TDP withdraw from the Central government to bring pressure on the BJP.
