Vijayawada: CPI-M State Secretary P Madhu alleged that from the meeting between Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu it appeared as if the Centre was trying to control the state. If this was indeed true, the public will definitely teach a lesson to BJP, he said. Madhu said that it was not fair on the part of the Governor to get involved in politics.
Speaking to media here today, the CPM leader similarly alleged that the State assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was behaving like a TDP functionary and not as a person who was heading a constitutional body. He demanded an inquiry into the functions of Governor and Speaker. In the name of deekshas and protests, the AP Chief Minister was misusing government machinery. Madhu asked Chandrababu to stop such activities immediately. He also said that Chandrababu Naidu should also reveal the amount spent on getting students and DWCRA women to the venue where he sat on a one day fast.
Madhu called upon the people in the state to symbolically protest against the state and Centre for not granting Special Category Status to AP by switching off the power at their respective places for half hour - from 7 pm to 7.30 pm tomorrow.
