Government To Send Medical Teams To Dengue Hit Khammam

Hyderabad: In the wake of increasing dengue menace in the district, Telangana government has decided to send doctors, medical personnel and equipment to the villages in Khammam.

A review meeting was held on Monday to discuss on the issues and preventive measures to be taken fir it. The meeting was attended by Health minister C Laxma Reddy, including top health officials like principal secretary Rajeswar Tiwari and director of health Lalitha Kumari.

The health minister directed the officials to send medical teams, launch health camps and send cell count machines to identify the seriousness of the disease in respective villages.

A committee headed by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has been appointed by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee to monitor the situation and to give required support for the dengue affected patients

In the last week 21 dengue death cases were witnessed in the district and villages reeling under the threat are - Ravinuthala, Govindapuram, Bonakal.

"Government has also decided to undertake measures, including sanitation and spraying disinfectants, to check the spread of dengue," the minster added.

Meanwhile, a special team from Fever hospital will reach Bonakal which has been the worst hit where highest death reports have been reported so far.

Rs 25,000 financial assistance for the dengue victims has been announced by TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, who is demanding 20 lakh compensation from the state government to be given to victims.
