Gold Bracelet Auction Fetches Rs 20 Lakh To Congress Leader

Hyderabad: Realtor Geereddy Mahendar Reddy of Krushi Developers owned the bracelet of former Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy for Rs 20 lakh in an auction on Friday.

Reddy, who had been gifted the bracelet by senior party leader V. Hanumantha Rao, said he would donate the money for farmers' welfare who were arrested for alleged ransacking of market yard in Khammam and later hand-cuffed and jailed in Khammam district and also to the farmers in Warangal district.

Rao, a former MP, presented the gold bracelet to Reddy for successfully organizing a public meeting addressed by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi at Sangareddy recently.

Rao gifted the bracelet to him following a suggestion made by Gandhi in a lighter vein, Reddy told reporters.
