Girl gang-raped, asked to go home naked

Raipur: In a bizarre incident in Tenda Nabapara village in Chhattisgarh, a minor girl committed suicide after she was gang-raped and asked to go home naked on December 29 night.

The police said that the girl along with her friends had gone to watch a fair in a nearby village. On the way back home, the five youths thrashed her friends, took the girl to a forest and gang-raped her in turns. They later snatched her clothes, belongings and asked her to go home naked.

“The five youths asked the 15-year-old girl to walk her home naked after gang raping her. They then fled the spot with her clothes. The victim could not bear the shame and committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree with her scarf on the crime spot,” TL Mishra, Gghargoda police station in-charge said.

A week after the incident the Chhattisgarh police has arrested the five teenagers including three juveniles who were involved in the crime.
