Girl Ends Life Over Parents’ Objection To Her Modeling Career

Hyderabad: Hazra Sultana, a city girl from Bahadurpura, who aspired to be a model, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house on Friday. The 20-year-old girl took the extreme step after her parents objected to her career as a model.

Bahadurpura inspector T. Laxminarayana said, "Sultana's parents stopped her from boarding a Mumbai train after her friend informed them about her plans. She was brought from Nampally station and was counseled in front of her parents for eight hours at a stretch, but she was found dead the next day."

Police didn't find any suicide note and the body was handed over to the family the same day after an autopsy.

After Sutana failed intermediate, she discontinued studies and aspired to be a model and also wanted to act in movies. But she was depressed as her family objected to it and also no progress being made on career front.
