Girl demands marriage, set on fire by lover's family in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, In  a shocking incident, a woman died after battling for her life for five days, on Thursday. She was alleged;ly burnt by her lover and his family.

According to reports, the victim, Sheela, 21, resident of VBH Colony in Chikkadpally, and her lover, Sai, 20, studied intermediate together. 

Sheela, second year Law student, used to live with her mother after her father's death. 

After some days, Sheela started pressuring Sai to marry her. On Monday evening she went to his house, and urged his parents to agree for their marriage. Sai was not home, but returned after ten mins. Soon after, he and his parents went to Sheela's house and abused her for visiting their home. 

Depressed over the argument, did Sheela commit suicide? Or did Sai's parents try killing her by first pouring kerosene on her and then setting her on fire? Police are investigating all the angles.

However, in a statement given to Chikkadpally ACP and Musheerabad Inspector, she said Sai and his parents doused her in kerosene and then set her on fire.

Police have filed a complaint against Sai, his father Chandrashekhar, mother Sunitha and his younger sisters. Murder case, and since Sheela belonged to Scheduled Caste, atrocity cases have been filed against Sai and his family. 

The accused were taken into custody and moved to Chanchalguda police station on Thursday.
