Berlin: Filmmaker Karan Johar says he felt honoured and excited after listening to a German chamber orchestra playing songs from "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", which launched him as a director in 1998.

Karan is representing Indian cinema at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival where the orchestra played some tunes from the Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji-starrer. The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra gave a rendition of "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". "Was so excited and honoured to see this! 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'," Karan tweeted on Sunday. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is participating in the European Film Market from February 16-18 in Berlin. The Indian delegation, which also consists of filmmakers like Jahnu Barua and Shaji Karun, is being led by Karan. Later, Karan also took a quiz related to the film on Twitter. "I can't believe that I didn't get all right! Shameful!" he tweeted. "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", a romantic drama, followed the lives of three characters -- Anjali, Rahul and Tina.

The director is in Germany, heading an Indian delegation to Berlinale 2018. The team, also comprising film personalities such as Vani Tripathi, Bhumi Pednekar, Jahnu Barua and Shaji Karun, has been selected and sent to participate in the European Film Market by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry. Karan says such initiatives by the central government are commendable and will "surely contribute a lot in the growth of Indian entertainment industry".

Karan shared that he moderated a panel at the ongoing Berlin International Film Festival. "We discussed that we are open for business and we also spoke about how Indian cinema has come of age... the new age content. Indian filmmakers are pushing the envelope. There are misconceptions around Indian cinema that has time and again been proven wrong in the last decade and beyond... that we are not just a song and dance filmmaking nation. "Someone asked me 'Are you still running around trees'? I am like these misconceptions are almost annoying now because many films have broken new ground and are continuing to leave an impact in Europe," said the owner of the popular banner Dharma Productions.
