‘Gabbar Singh’ to the Rescue
Hyderabad: The name ‘Gabbar Singh’ helped the police restore gold and cash to a woman who forgot the valuables in an autorickshaw.
The woman, G Madhavi, hired an autorickshaw to travel from RK Puram to LB Nagar Ring Road on August 11. She had with her a bag containing 30 tolas of gold and Rs. 25,000 cash. However, after alighting at LB Nagar she boarded a bus and discovered that she forgot the bag in the autorickshaw. She immediately went back only to find that the vehicle had already left after dropping her.
She lodged a complaint with the LB Nagar police. She could recall the words ‘Gabbar Singh’ written inside the vehicle. Based on the clue, the police tracked down the vehicle as belonging to Kalavath Bojya (32) of Samsthan Narayanapuram in Nalgonda district. He was caught selling the valuables to a jewellery shop in LB Nagar. The gold was recovered from him and the autorickshaw was seized.
