* Vaigo says it is 'unacceptable'* Raghuveera to knock NHRC doors* Chandrababu briefs Guv about shooting   The encounter of 20 red sander smugglers with their chiefs absconding is creating quite a ruckus in both Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh "While police have every right to arrest and prosecute offenders, shooting  them dead like birds is unacceptable," said the angered Vaiko, chief of the MDMK party in Tamil Nadu.  Raghuveera Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president also said he would take this issue to the notice of National Human Rights Commission and questioned the motive of the police behind the encounter of the lower cadre leaving behind the commencing authorities Deputy Inspector General M Kantha Rao said his officers had opened fire "in self-defence" as the smugglers attacked them with harmful weapons like knives, axes and stones. Red sanders is an endangered tree with a lot of demand overseas and in the country. The rise in demand is provoking a lot of smuggling activities. In fact the red sanders smuggling mafia is highly powerful. The special task force, constituted by Chandrababu Naidu government, has been given a lot of special  privileges and modern weapons to combat the minutest traces of the Red sanders mafia. Meanwhile, AP Director General of Police J.V.Ramudu gave a consolidated report on the whole incident to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The chief minister is said to have telephonically briefed Governor ESL Narasimhan about the incident.
