Frequent fire accidents bring down the demand for AC buses

Hyderabad woke up to yet another fire accident on Monday morning, when fire broke out in an AC bus, travelling from Hanmakonda to Hyderabad.

At Govardhanagiri,  in Raghunathapalli mandal, Warangal district, some alert passengers found smoke emanating from the bus. On being informed, all the passengers immediately got down from the bus.

However, some passengers were  injured in the incident.

Incidentally, the demand of AC buses, that should have risen during the summer months, have seen a sharp decline. Passengers are opting for non AC bus travel, in spite of soaring temperatures, and the reason behind this sudden change is the frequent fire accidents that have haunted Hyderabad bound buses since last year.
