Former Manchester United player Nemanja Vidic is hopeful of Alexis Sanchez’s success at Old Trafford. He has approved of Sanchez’s ability as big match player. The Chilean’s experience in Champions League would certainly elevate Manchester United’s chances in the European competition. It may be noted that the Chilean striker switched from Arsenal to Manchester United as a free transfer, as the Armenian Henrikh Mikhitaryan moved to Arsenal as part of a swap deal, during the January transfer window. He has got the support of his manager Jose Mourinho, who is impressed with Sanchez’s recent performances both in the Premier League as well as the Emirates FA Cup.

Legendary Defender Nemanja Vidic feels the former Barcelona forward is a valuable asset and has the experience of playing in major competitions like the UEFA Champions League.

Vidic said: “He is a quality player and will make a difference in the Premier League. Personally, my view is that he should have come earlier, joined the players in pre-season. Sanchez will help us win trophies the club is fighting for, the Champions League is an important one. He has been at Barcelona, has experience of that level of competition and will be useful definitely.”

A relieved Alexis Sanchez expressed the same ambition when he moved to Manchester United back in January. He wants to win trophies with United. Playing at the Theater of Dreams was his distant childhood dream. Also, playing under Jose Mourinho was another added advantage in the pursuit of his sensational swap deal transfer that involved Henrikh Mikhitaryan’s move to the Gunners.

Manchester United are scheduled for a big European football night at Old Trafford on the 14th of March. They will face Sevilla in a knockout game that decides the 2-match knockout round which advances to the Quarter Finals, after their 0-0 draw at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium this week.
