Seven killed as lorry hits auto in Chittoor

Seven persons, including four women and a baby girl, were on Wednesday killed and two others injured when the four-wheeler they were travelling in collided with a lorry in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

The incident occurred near Timmasamudram under KVB Puram police station limits at around 4 PM when the lorry hit the seven-seater vehicle carrying 10 persons, Puttur Circle Inspector T Sainath said.
While seven persons were killed on the spot, two others sustained injuries and one jumped to safety from the vehicle. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital and a case has been registered, police said, adding, the matter is being investigated
